NewsFlash: Family Resource Center on Greensboro Garden Tour

The Fairview Family Resource Center's KidsConnect program is in the news. Their KidsConnect garden (see photos below) has been listed as a Community Garden in Guilford County by the North Carolina Extension agency. They will be visited by master gardeners and others on their first-ever Garden Tour on July 23, 2009 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. One of the extension agency's master gardeners got Fairview started, and the children at the center have done an excellent job in preparing and caring for their garden. They are now receiving the fruits of their labor—squash, green peppers, cucumbers, basil, tomatoes—and there is still more to come. Perhaps more importantly, the children are learning that food does not come just from the grocery store!
